The International Chemistry Olympiad is an annual competition in chemistry at the high school level, where over 70 countries participate with 4 students on each country’s team.
I chaired the 44th IChO in 2012 at the University of Maryland College Park, and as part of this responsibility, I’ve been part of the four year IChO succession:
2010 in Tokyo,
2011 in Ankara Turkey,
2012 in the U.S.,
and 2013 in Moscow.
I’m pictured here (in the bright sun!) with the US mentors at the 45th IChO in Moscow, with ACS USNCO staff person Cecilia Hernandez (2nd from right)
